JCDecaux wins the exclusive MUPI street furniture contract for the city of Antwerp for 8 years
JCDecaux, the world’s leading outdoor advertising company, announces that it has won the ‘MUPI’ street furniture contract for the city of Antwerp for a period of 8 years. Antwerp has thus reaffirmed its confidence in JCDecaux, to whom it awarded the contract for advertising bus shelters in July 2021. With this new concession, the Group becomes the exclusive street furniture partner in Antwerp, the second largest city in Belgium, located in the heart of the province of Antwerp, with a population of 1.9 million. JCDecaux is thus strengthening its position in the province with a wide range of products and services that are fully financed by the brands’ communication.
The new contract covers the installation, maintenance, operation and upkeep of the ‘MUPIS’, which will enable advertisers and the city to broadcast local advertising and information campaigns. In line with its sustainable development objectives, JCDecaux is positioning itself as a reference in terms of CSR with, in Antwerp: the opening of a new depot allowing the recovery of rainwater for the maintenance of the street furniture, the use of solar panels, the switch to LED lighting and the optimisation of maintenance rounds carried out by electric vehicles.
During 2023 and 2024, 100 digital screens will be installed in strategic locations in the city, such as the central station. Advertisers will be able to design flexible, effective and measurable DOOH campaigns while benefiting from the many possibilities offered by programmatic.
