Clear Channel wins STIB’s DOOH at metro entrances
Clear Channel has won the STIB’s tender for the operation of digital street furniture at the entrances to the Brussels metro, for a minimum period of 12 years. This replaces JCDecaux, which will continue to operate the (D)OOH devices in the STIB stations.
The new Clear Channel furniture – 125 state-of-the-art double-sided digital screens – will be signed by the designer Axel Enthoven (Yellow Window), with whom Clear Channel has already collaborated for the passenger shelters in Ghent. They will be operational in January 2024.
Each metro entrance will be equipped with a touch screen accessible to users, offering information such as real-time metro schedules.
“We are delighted with this collaboration with the STIB and are convinced that this new device will offer a unique and effective user experience for travellers, while enriching the capital’s public space,” said Jan De Moor, Managing Director of Clear Channel Belgium.
Thanks to this gain, which complements the interactive communication services already offered in SNCB stations (itrain) and along the TEC network (itec), Clear Channel’s coverage in Brussels has reached almost 90% (CIM OOH 2023 simulation, T18-54 CIM Brussels). According to the company, this addition represents a significant increase of 15% of its global digital inventory and 61% in the 19 Brussels municipalities.
